Reclaim Your Story, Transform Your Life
Providing a compassionate, safe, and healing space for individuals, couples, and families in Bryan-College Station and virtually across Texas, all grounded in a Christian worldview.
My Approach
Hi, I’m Cara, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. After careers in social work and a detour in volunteer and healthcare administration, I've returned to my original calling and have embraced this path with the wisdom that comes from living a full life.
My work is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, parts work, and more. I believe we are created for connection, and that our emotions—unlike our thoughts—orient us honestly to our present experience. Understanding our emotional landscape is essential to healing and growth.
My Christian worldview shapes how I practice: I believe each person is uniquely created, deeply valued, and capable of overcoming hardship. Change begins within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, acceptance, honesty, and emotional connection. Together, we'll explore how your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions impact your well-being and relationships, honoring where you've been as we move toward where you want to go.
Through our work together, you'll find support as you move toward hope, healing, and more fulfilling relationships.
Services I offer
I work with individuals ages 12 and up navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship distress. I have a particular passion for working with women as they reconnect with their inner wisdom and authentic identity, and I also provide dedicated support to men seeking personal growth. My goal is to help you understand your emotional landscape and rediscover the person you were created to be.
For couples—including those preparing for marriage—I specialize in helping partners rebuild intimacy and navigate the intricate dance of the relationship. Whether you're facing betrayal trauma, communication breakdowns, or simply feeling disconnected, we'll work together to strengthen your emotional bond, rebuild trust, and create the partnership you long for. For those who are struggling to uncouple, we can work together to minimize the emotional damage and create a space for mutual respect and peace.
Families facing complex dynamics, conflict, or transition will find a compassionate ally in our work together. I help family members understand their patterns of connection, communicate with greater clarity, and build healthier ways of relating that honor each person's unique needs.
